1.1.The maintenance is performed to keep the vehicle in operable state. It is a preventive measure which should be performed under the schedule.
1.2. The grades and quantity of lubricants, oils and technical liquids used for maintenance and repair, are specified in "Lubrication chart".
2.Types of maintenance
Maintenance of KAMAZ vehicles is subdivided into the following stages:
-maintenance during initial period of operation;
-maintenance during basic period of operation.
During the initial period of operation,the following maintenance procedures are performed:
-daily maintenance (Daily mnt.);
-maintenance Mnt-2500;
During the basic period of operation,the following maintenance procedures are performed :
-daily maintenance (Daily mnt.);
-first maintenance (Mnt-1);
-second maintenance (Mnt-2);
- additional season maintenance to be performed once a year in autumn.
The main purpose of daily maintenance is general monitoring over state of units and systems to ensure safe driving as well as maintaining due external appearance.
The main purpose of one-time maintenance Mnt.-2500 is to identify and prevent failures through timely performance of diagnostic, fastening, adjustment, cleaning and greasing operations in new vehicle.
Keeping in mind that the initial period of operation is the time of intense running-in and matching of component elements, you should perform procedures with special care during this period.
The main purpose of first and second maintenance procedures is to identify and prevent failures through timely performance of diagnostic, fastening, adjustment, cleaning and greasing operations.
Procedures on preparation for winter are included into additional autumn procedures.
During maintenance, it is tolerable to perform separate types of maintenance (Mnt-1, Mnt-2 or Season mnt), as well as several types of maintenance simultaneously (Mnt-1 and Mnt-2, Mnt-2 and Season mnt, Mnt-1 and Season mnt or Mnt-1, Mnt-2 and Season mnt).
3. Maintenance intervals.
Daily maintenance of truck is performed once a day prior (partially) and after work. At the parking after prolonged driving it is also necessary to inspect the vehicle state in scope of Daily mnt.
At the initial stage of vehicle operation, Mnt-2500 should be performed once over the first 1000-5000 kms of mileage, or in 20-100 motor-hours. At the initial stage of vehicle operation, maintenance should be performed within the intervals presented irrespective of category of operation condition
During basic period of operation, the maintenance is performed in accord with the category of operation conditions, see "Maintenance schedule for КАМАZ vehicles".
